Background - Leadership and Education
I received my Master of Business Administration from Cornell University's Johnson Graduate School of Management. I hold a Master of Engineering from Cornell's College of Engineering, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.
My professional career started at AT&T Bell Laboratories developing digital networking products for the telecom and banking industries which led to leadership roles in several smaller technology companies focused on telecom, IVR, and internet commerce/security products.
For the latter half of my career, I've enjoyed leadership roles as an entrepreneur at technology startups in and around Boston:
I co-founded an early online streaming music company, NextRadio, which grew to be the premier white-label streaming music service for a number of well-known brands in the early days of internet.
I led the technology team for a mobile image recognition company, Mobot, leading to a successful acquisition within 2 years of the company's formation. Mobot enjoyed a global customer base spanning print media, advertising, and entertainment.
I joined Right Networks, a $20M privately held, cloud provider to focus on refining internal business processes and building a framework that would allow the company to grow more rapidly, support customers more efficiently, and operate more reliably. The team's success led to the company's successful acquisition by BV Investment Partners for $100M in under 4 years.
More recent roles have spanned different stages of company development. Equality Cosmetics was a very early stage/stealth mode technology company just getting started with promising/ground-breaking technology - the on-demand creation of custom cosmetics. Early in its life cycle, the company was acquired by a multi-national cosmetics brand (LVMH/Sephora) and rolled into their innovation arm.
Encompass-CX occupied a different niche. Created as an internal tool for an established consulting company, the product was spun off in an attempt to build and grow a SaaS analytics company/service. Largely self-funded with a stable customer base, the challenge was reshaping the product to target small/medium B2B customers with shorter acquisition cycles and faster results delivery.
I got involved in the healthcare space, joining HMS (acquired by Cotiviti) in 2020. I applied myself to Population Health Management at the intersection of healthcare IT, Big Data, predictive analytics, and cloud computing. I focused on developing an API-driven ecosystem and was responsible for overhauling the security architecture of the overall system.
My most recent engagement with Corevitas, LLC (recently acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific) focuses on evidence-based medicine where we run multi-year longitudinal studies of various drug states and measure safety and efficacy of various drugs. As the head of software development, I drive the enterprise data architecture for ingestion and organization of all incoming data for 14 independent studies in support of the Biostatistics, Pharmacovigilance, and Clinical Data Management teams.
